I'm Donna Earnest Pravel, a freelance writer, blogger, web entrepreneur, and the senior editor at Heart of Texas Copywriting Solutions. My primary niche is search engine optimized (SEO) article writing. I also provide a variety of other types of writing services, such as press releases, sales, copy, product reviews, and company newsletters.

My Professional Background

I am a true entrepreneur. I have been a freelance violist, playing in a variety of orchestras and small ensembles in the Houston area. I taught Suzuki violin and viola for over ten years. I am a former lay midwife with the Houston Midwives Association. I have taught fifth and sixth grade in a private school. I homeschooled for nearly 25 years, and became a grassroots lobbyist for several family issues.

In 2009, I began freelance writing for a number of "content mills." I discovered SEO writing in 2010, and was contracted by Demand Studios to write for eHow.com and Livestrong.com. In 2011 I decided to start my own writing business, which has evolved into Heart of Texas Copywriting Solutions.

My Business

Heart of Texas (HOT) Copywriting Solutions is my SEO writing and distribution company. I also maintain Bluebonnet Natural Healing Therapy, a niche blog for natural health. I write and publish almost all of the content for both sites. Before starting Heart of Texas Copywriting Solutions, I maintained a daily college prep blog for homeschoolers called Donna Rae at Home.com. It detailed my 25 years of experience as a home school veteran and homeschool support group leader. I also had a freelance writing website called Donna Rae Online Writing Services, which I folded into HOT Copywriting Solutions when I decided to expand.

Published Author

So far, I have one ebook published, called Packaging Your Homeschooled Student for College. I have several hundreds of articles published all over the web on a variety of topics. My clients have included Natural News.com, Open Congress.org, The International Music Council, BBC.com and Google News Service, to name a few. I mostly write about alternative health, music, education, home and garden, and politics, but I can research and write about almost anything. I have also been the editor for several home school support group newsletters, and have published print articles in The Teaching Home magazine and Texas Home School Review.

Education

I hold a Bachelor's of Music Education from the University of Houston, and have 20 hours toward a Master's degree in Applied Music. Curremtly I am also working toward a teaching certificate for fourth through eighth grades in the State of Texas.
